ALARICO Spray on canvas Jorit

The spray painting on canvas by Jorit, depicting King Alaric, offers a powerful reinterpretation of
the historical and legendary figure linked to the city of Cosenza. The street artist's technique, with
his unmistakable style combining realistic details and vibrant chromatic fragmentation, gives the
king a regal yet approachable aura. Alaric's face, marked by bold lines, conveys wisdom and
authority, while the intense colors and geometric background add a contemporary dimension to the
narrative. The work evokes the legend of the buried treasure, bridging the past with a modern visual
approach. The choice of spray on canvas emphasizes Jorit's urban artistry, grounding the ancient in
the present. The painting stands as an iconic and innovative tribute to the historical memory of
Cosenza.

MIELE Marker on wood Milo Manara

The portrait of Miele, created with marker on wood by Milo Manara, captures the essence of the
iconic protagonist of his comics. With just a few essential strokes, the artist conveys sensuality,
mystery, and strength—characteristics that define the character. The fluid lines outlining her hair
almost seem to dance, evoking movement and vitality, while the expression on her face, with a
direct gaze and slightly parted lips, invites the viewer to connect with her inner world. The use of a
wooden surface adds a tactile dimension to the work, highlighting the uniqueness of the stroke and
its ability to interact with the natural material. The portrait not only serves as a tribute to the
character of Miele but also celebrates the graphic and narrative talent of the artist. In its apparent
simplicity, the piece reveals extraordinary expressive depth.

TEX a Cosenza Marker on rigid cardboard Gianluca Cestaro

The artwork created by Gianluca Cestaro during the opening of the largest exhibition ever dedicated
to Tex Willer in Cosenza masterfully celebrates the renowned comic book character. The drawing
captures Tex Willer in action, on his trusty horse Dinamite, as he heads toward a sign marked
"Cosenza," creating a connection between the iconic Wild West and the urban context of the
city. The dynamic composition, highlighted by bold and precise strokes, conveys a sense of
movement and adventure. Tex, armed and with a resolute gaze, embodies the timeless hero, while
the detail of the sign acts as a bridge between the imaginary world of comics and the local reality.
The desert setting, with its towering rock formations, recalls the classic landscapes of Tex's stories
but is reinterpreted in an original way to pay homage to Cosenza. This artwork is not just a tribute to
Tex Willer but also an expression of the interaction between art, comics, and territory, celebrating
the universality of the character and his connection with readers across generations.
